Defining Moments
In life there are always defining moments which change the whole trajectory of your life.
These critical moments mean so much to our lives but only occur for a split second.
The require focus, determination and the correct decision making in the moment.
As I reflect on life there are many defining moments that have occurred not just for myself but for other people in my family.
I have tried my best in every moment to make the correct decisions in these moments.
As stated by Nipsey Hussle, 'A man is defined by his reaction to any given situation, so who defines you someone else or yourself'.
I hope to define myself in this life by making the decision which I believe are the most correct in my heart.
For I would rather make these decision and be wrong then to forever live with regret.
A life full of regret is a life that is not truly lived and in order to live we must reduce these regrets that we must live with.
I hope to achieve a fulfilled life which when I grow old can look back and proudly reflect on, even if our lives in the grand scheme of things may not mean much.
We give our life meaning by going through the hardships and difficulties to achieve our aspirations and not travelling down the wrong path.
Inspired by philosophers such as Confucius and Diogenes of Sinope I hope to achieve two important things:
- live a virtues life
- do not live to satisfy the false expectations of society
Rather I want to travel my path to become the person I hope to become in order to not only inspire others but to create foundations for the future.
The actions and decisions I choose to make should be a reflection of my inner soul rather than the exterior influences on my life.
Therefore, intrinsic value has a greater effect on my path than the every influencing and revolving world that will stop for no one regardless of what happens in my personal life.
To create my path through my decisions I define the moments and the moments do not define me. A life with purpose and vision holds more value than a life with no responsibility and pressure.
